Philippina Bender Kramer Birth: May 5, 1863 Velykokomarivka Odes'ka, Ukraine Death: Sep. 13, 1944 Bismarck Burleigh County North Dakota, USA Bio by DG Bender; Philippina BENDER born 5 May 1863 in Kassel, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia was the daughter of Johann BENDER and Katharina REUTHER. Philippina married Jacob KRAMER on the 11th of January 1881 in Kassel, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia. The couple had at least 12 children. Jacob and Philippina Kramer along with their children; Christina, Magdalena and Jacob, immigrated to America via the port of Bremen, Germany aboard the SS "Eider", and arrived at the Port of New York, New York on the 10th of May 1889. On the 28th of May 1889 Jacob filed his Intention Papers in McIntosh County, North Dakota. The KRAMER Family settled there and on the 12th of October 1891 Jacob purchased 160 acres of land in Township 130N, Range 72W, ¼ of Sec 5, W5 (document# 2101). He also homesteaded another ¼ section within that same section and was granted a patent for that 160 parcel of land on the 5th of May 1899 (document# 4008). The members of the KRAMER Family born on foreign soil were awarded United States citizenship on the 19th of October 1898 in McIntosh County, North Dakota (Vol. E-8, Pg. 061).
