Erxleben, 94 The mother of Dr. Walter O. Erxleben Jr. of Bluffton, Sally L. Erxleben, 94, of Bluffton died at 12:15 a.m. today, Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Erxleben had lived in Bluffton since 2000. She previously had resided in Chicago, Batesville, Ind., and Cincinnati. Born on Oct. 1, 1912, in Toledo, Ohio, she was a daughter of William and E. Viola Githens, and was a 1936 graduate of the University of the City of Toledo. Survivors, in addition to the son in Bluffton, include sons William C. of Newcastle, Wash., Richard L. of Dallas and Terry J. of Indianapolis; a sister, Edna Campbell of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walter O. Erxleben Sr.; three sisters; and two brothers. Private graveside services will be held in Chicago at a later date. There is no calling. Preferred memorials are to the Wells County Foundation for the Christian Care Retirement Community Endowment Fund or to the donor?s favorite charity.
