Obituary of Arthur E. Nuss

Funeral services were held for Arthur E. Nuss, 78, Saturday, September 27, 1986, at the Friedens United Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. James Schatz officiating. Music was provided by Keith Stoebner with Cindy Hight as the organist. Interment was at the Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Pallbearers were the grandsons: David Oorlog, Randy Nuss, Greg Tucek, Tim Nuss, Steve Namyst and Jeff Nuss. Honorary pallbearers were the grandsons: Chad Weber, Richard Nuss, Scott Oorlog, David Nuss and Joshua Gjoraas.
Arthur E. Nuss was born on April 20, 1908, at Delmont, South Dakota. His parents were Phillip and Eva (Kirschenmann) Nuss. He married Adeline Fuerst on December 12, 1933, at Armour, South Dakota. He farmed in the Tripp area until his retirement. Arthur died on Tuesday, September 23, 1986, at the Firesteel Nursing Home in Mitchell.
Surviving are six children consisting of two sons, Darwin, Mitchell; Dale, Hooksett, New Hampshire; four daughters, Marcella (Mrs Jackie Tucek), Monticello, Minnesota; Karen (Mrs. Dan Weber) Tripp; Gloria (Mrs Charles Oorlog) South Sioux City, Nebraska and Deborah (Mrs. Dwayne Gjoraas) Yuma, Colorado.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Nuss, Tripp; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Hofer, Mitchell and Mrs. Emma Patzer, Austin, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Adeline on October 4, 1985, and one sister.
