Laura E. Polk, 74, of 4650 Barkers Run Road, Zanesville, died Friday December 25,
1992 in Bethesda Hospital after a short illness. She was born February 6, 1918 in
Jefferson Township, Noble County, the daughter of the late Alex and Eva Zwick Noll.
Mrs. Polk spent most of her life in the Zanesville area. She was a member of St. Mary s
Catholic Church at Mattinglys Settlement, near Zanesville; a member of the Daughters of
Isabella; Richvale Grange and Pomona Grange.
Survivors include her husband, Carl C. Polk, who she married on October 12, 1938; four
sisters, Mrs. Edna Dimmerling, Mrs. Clara Crock and Mrs. Pearl Estadt, all of Caldwell,
and Mrs. Veronica Burkhart of Lewisville; one brother, Ernest F. Noll of Zanesville; and
several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were one sister, Freda Crock, and one
brother, Clarence Noll.
Friends were received at the Bolin Funeral Home, Zanesville, on Sunday and Monday
from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December
29, 1992 at St. Marys Catholic Church at Mattinglys Settlement with Fr. Frank Miller as
celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
