Frank Kossler's Dad, Joseph was a chemist. He married Barbara Goeb. She did't know where they came from, only that they came by boat. Each son, William,Joseph Jr., Frederick( who walked with a limp),and Frank was given $3,000 towards a business. William had a hardware store at Main and Wasbach in Pittsburgh.PA. Frederich and Frank went together and had a hardware store on Chartiers St. in Pittsburgh. Nothing is known about Joseph Jr.
Frank and Mary Rose ran a confectionary store on Frankstown Ave. in Bruston. They had moved there in 1909. In June Mary Rose died of a heart attack. Mercedes then had to help raise her brother and sisters. They called her Captain because she was always telling them what to do. Result- she was later called Aunt Cap.

Frank Kossler age 77 died at 9:40 P.M. at the home of his daughter Mrs. Walter Brenner( Mercedes), homewood,PA. Born in Pittsburgh, the deceased had resided in this area for 22 years. Retired 11 years ago- he had been employed by the National Tube Co.,Ellwood City, PA. Mr. Kossler leaves two daughters- Mrs. Walter Brenner( Aunt Cap), Mrs. Joseph Beck( Aunt Pat), McKees Rock,PA and one son,Lewis F.Kossler of Freedom,PA.,18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. Funeral will be held at the Brenner house with Requiem High Mass at 9:00 A.M.Thursday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Beaver Falls,PA Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
