Irene E. Lofberg, 92 of Monroe died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Elderly Solutions assisted living.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe. She will be taken Friday to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where a Mass of Resurrection celebrating her life will be at 11 a.m. Rev. Jack Quinlan, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
Born August 5, 1916 in Carleton, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Livernois. She married E. Stuart Lofberg September 24, 1955 in Miami, Florida. Irene spent most of her life in Miami, Florida and returned to Monroe after Stuart’s death on October 14, 2005.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monroe and had been an avid painter most of her life.
Surviving is a sister, Viola Vandaele of Monroe and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ethel Nadeau, Helen McGowan-Grodi and Luella Livernois.
