was born March 26, 1921 in Wishek,
ND, the daughter of Henry and Phillippina (Bauer)
Rueb. She grew up and attended school in Wishek.
At an early age, she developed a love for music and
she played for church and took piano lessons in
elementary school and Hawaiian guitar while working
in Minneapolis for a time. Emma met William Peltz
through an Assembly of God conference in North
Dakota. They were married on October 3, 1946 in
Wishek, ND. To this union, 2 sons, Tim and Steve
were born. Shortly after being married, the couple
purchased a farm in the Bluegrass area and farmed
there until 1985. Emma worked alongside Bill and
Bill often said she was the best hired hand he ever
had. After retiring in 1991, they purchased their
home in Glen Ullin. William passed away in 2005
and Emma moved to Marian Manor in June 2013.
Emma had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved
people and was very hospitable. She enjoyed playing
Rummikub and bingo during senior activities.
Emma was independent, civic minded and generous
to her community. She was a lifetime member of
the Bethel Assembly of God Church. She also spent
much time volunteering in the community, serving
on the Board for Keen Camp at Devils Lake and
the Glen Ullin Senior Center, playing piano for the
?Germans from Russia Heritage Society,? delivering
Meals on Wheels, and she also strongly supported
the Hillcrest Orphanage. Emma will be remembered
for her spiritual heritage. Emma passed away
Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Marian Manor Health
Care Center in Glen Ullin. Emma is survived by her
sons, Tim (Jeanne) of Bath, MI and Steve (Cheryl) of
Broomfield, CO; grandsons, Justin (Rachelle) Peltz
of Henderson, CO and Jordan Peltz of Broomfield,
CO; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Anna Grayce,
Jacob, and Marissa ; brothers, Valentine (Olga)
Rueb of Jamestown, Raymond (LaVerne) Rueb of
Phoenix, AZ, Oscar (Nettie) Rueb of Bismarck; and
numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her parents, Henry and Phillippina;
husband, William; brothers, George, Chris, and
Aaron Rueb; sisters, Martha Bauman and Erna Peltz
