- Lorraine A. Lattner "Rainey" Livernois
TRAVERSE CITY ? Lorraine "Rainey" A. Lattner Livernois, 76, of Traverse City, formerly of Detroit, passed away Nov. 18, 2008, at Munson Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Rainey was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Detroit to the late Bernie and Muriel Lattner. On Feb. 20, 1952, she married her childhood sweetheart, Ted Livernois. Together they raised three children.
Rainey was a retired Realtor, but she never stopped looking for that ideal property, and received many honors throughout her career. Rainey was a talented artist and helped others by opening her shop, Rainey's Room, near Chums Corners.
Rainey had a great group of friends that through the years grew as one group blended with another, from her bridge group that never seemed to deal a hand of cards, The Traverse City Area Board of Realtors, The Silver Lake Association and the League of Woman Voters. Rainey and Ted continued to join their friends at the annual Redford High School reunion. She sent Christmas cards the old-fashioned way, writing individual notes to each person on their list. Together, they shared many fond memories at the shores of their Silver Lake home with their family and friends. Family meant the world to her and she was looking forward to the addition of her newest great-granddaughter, Isabella, arriving in February.
Rainey is survived by her husband Ted; and their children: Sharon (Michael) Cox and children, Joel (Allycia Boudreau) Cox and son Riley; Scott Cox and daughter Paige; and Bryan Cox: Ted (Marie) Livernois and daughters Lisa and Laura Walker: Susanne (Matt) Courtade and daughters Gabriel Courtade and children Corinne, Connor and Lleyton Krumlauf; Erin (Nate) McManus; Laura (Joshua) Hentschel and daughters Ainsleigh and Brianna; Katelyn (John) Reid and son Bryce; and Rebekah (Scott Ostlund) Courtade; and her brother, Bernie "Buck"(Sandy) Lattner. She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister Isabel.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Her good friend Joanne Kline will assist the family.
