Maxell Dale Brannon

Maxell Dale Brannon, 76, of Leroy, W.Va., died March 5, 2010, at his home.
He was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Newton, W.Va., a son of the late John and Delphia Bailey Brannon.
He formerly lived in North Carolina, where he was a retired delivery man and truck driver for Lowes and he enjoyed bowling. He was a loving and devoted family man. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and a member of American Legion Post 217 in College Park, Md.
He is survived by one daughter, Diananna "Diana" Nix of Greenbelt, Md.; one grandson, Richard Tyler Nix; two sisters, Dorothy Farnsworth of Palmdale, Calif., and Marlene Harris of Akron, Ohio; and three brothers, Charles Brannon of Charleston, James Brannon of Huntington and John Franklin Brannon of Tallmadge, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanetta Conrad Brannon; a sister, Wilma Brannon; and a brother, Lloyd Brannon.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, W.Va. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Reedy, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests donations to the Reedy Volunteer Fire Department or the Roane County Emergency Squad.
