Bertha Bender Krause Birth: Jun. 20, 1897 Venturia McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Death: May 3, 1987 Lodi San Joaquin County California, USA Bertha Krause, 89, of Lodi, died Sunday at a local convalescent hospital following a brief illness. She was born in North Dakota and had lived in the Lodi area since 1958. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lodi and the Women's Missionary Fellowship. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Mrs, Krause was preceded in death by her husband, Gottlieb Krause, in 1966; four sons; and one daughter. She is survived by two sons, William Krause of North Dakota and Lenhart Krause of Oregon; two daughters, Nadine Miller of Lodi and Marcella Krause of Michigan; two sisters, Christine Schrenk of South Dakota and Frieda Krause of North Dakota; 25 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Lodi. The Revs. Aaron Buhler and Davis Mitchell of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Committal will be in Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Geirhart & Wells Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Remembrances may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lodi Memorial Fund.
