The funeral for Christina Schrenk, 99, Aberdeen, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, 1500 E. Melgaard Road. The Rev. Harold E. Salem will officiate.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, with Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., in charge of arrangements.
She died Saturday, May 7, 1994, at the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
Christina Bender was born June 11, 1894, to Martin and Christina (Knoll) Bender at Venturia, N.D. She grew up and attended rural school in the area.
She married Jacob P. Schrenk on Dec. 13, 1913, at Eureka. They made their home on a farm near Venturia. In 1936 they moved into Venturia, where they owned and operated Schrenk Meat Market until 1940. They moved to Ellendale, N.D. There they operated the Standard service station until 1947, when they moved to Aberdeen. From 1934 to 1950 she was a sales representative for Rawleigh Products. She worked at Newberry's and the Zesto Shop in Aberdeen until her retirement in 1959.
Jacob died in August 1953.
She had resided at the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen since September 1983.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was an avid student and teacher of the Bible. She also taught Sunday school, taught young children songs and speeches, enjoyed music and singing the the church choir. The church and her faith were a vital part of her life. She was a member of the Christian Worship Hour, which was the forerunner of the First Baptist Church radio ministry. She also was a member of the Ladies Aid and Women's Mission Society.
Survivors include two sons, Ephraim J. Schrenk of Dallas, Ore., and Milton E. Schrenk of Aberdeen; one daughter, V. Frieda Kusler of Aberdeen; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Ken Kusler, Keith Kusler, Sherwood Schrenk, John Schrenk, Keith Rath, Jay Kusler, Scott Kusler, Stephen Rath and Christopher Schrenk.
Organist will be Peggy Cruse, and soloist will be Barb Rieck.
Ushers will be Delores Wockenfuss and Milton Ehresmann.
