Obituary of Darold Weisser
Darold Weisser, 72, died at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Armour, with burial to follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetary. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at United Church of Christ in Armour, SD.
Darold Weisser was born on June 14, 1944 to Emil and Elsie (DeWald) Weisser in Wagner, SD. He attended one-room Beck #8 country school thru 8th grade and received his GED thru Mt. Marty. At age 18, he joined the SD National Guard. He worked for Mobil in Tripp, SD, and then moved to Armour where he worked at Mobil. On June 20, 1965 he married the love of his life, Judy Stoebner. The couple lived in Armour, and were married 51 ½ years. Darold worked at the Agland Co-op for 37 years. Upon retiring, worked at Werkmeister’s Welding part-time for 10 years.
Darold was baptized and confirmed as a youth. He was a member of the UCC, serving on various boards. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with the family.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, two children: Todd (Shirlyce) Weisser, Mitchell and Tammy (Tim) Hein, Sioux Falls; grandchildren: Katie (Zach) Horn, Richfield, MN; Chelsie Weisser, Richfield, MN; Kiana Hein (fiancé Jase Kraft), Sioux Falls; Thane Hein, Sioux Falls; great-Grandchild: Oakley Horn. Brother: Dale (Lorna) Weisser, Tripp. Sisters: Shirley (Virgil) Fuerst, Armour; Betty (Harvey) Wormsbecher, Tripp; Diane (Marvin) Bauder, Tyndall, SD, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
