Martha Hilda Weisser was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1918 to Emil and Pauline (Berreth) Schweinforth. Martha was united in marriage to Arthur E. Weisser on June 23, 1938 and they began farming in the Tripp-Delmont area. In 1976, Arthur retired from farming and began work as a contractor and built a home in Tripp. He continued to build homes and Martha worked for many years at the grocery store in Delmont. She was a member of Frieden?s Reformed Church where she was active in the ladies? aid. She also volunteered with the local Meals on Wheels and at the Tripp Good Samaritan Center. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting and gardening, and took special pride in her mulberry trees. Martha?s aspiration in life was to give of herself and help people. The example that she set as a person who cared for others was fostered in her daughter, Loraine, who taught and worked with children, and Alice, who became a nurse. Martha became a resident of the Tripp Good Samaritan Society in November of 2005, and it is there that she passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 15 days.
