  [S927] Obituary. Emil Beck The funeral for Emil Beck, 91, of Ashley, ND, and formerly of Eureka, S.D., will be Thursday, Oct. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Eureka. Pastors Lloyd Miller of Eureka and Jeff Giles of Ashley will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Eureka with Straub?s Funeral Home, Eureka, in charge of arrangements. He died Oct. 7, 2006, at Ashley Medical Center. Emil Beck was born Oct. 23, 1914, to John and Emilie (Fritz) Beck at Eureka. He married Frieda M. Goehring at Eureka on Sept. 5, 1937. They made their home on a farm 8 1/2 miles northeast of Eureka until 1977, when they moved to Eureka. They moved to Ashley in 2000. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley, was a choir member and a member of the church council of Zion Lutheran Church in Eureka, and a country school board member. He enjoyed hunting. Survivors include his wife, Frieda Beck, Ashley; one son, John (Carol) Beck, Golden, Colo.; one daughter, Sonja (Stanley) Schnabel, Ashley; five grandchildren, Bobbi Beck, Hunterville, N.C., Deb (Don), Kendall, Thornton, Colo., Neil (Kristie) Schnabel, Ashley; Michael Schnabel, Brighton, Colo. and Barry (Deb) Beck, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and five great-grandchildren. Organist will be Lana Hilgemann and soloist will be Margie Walker. Casketbearers will be Deb Kendall, Neil Schnabel, Mike Schnabel, Barry Beck, Arnold Fauth and Charles Neuharth. Honorary casketbearers will be his great-grandchildren, Travis and Blaire Schnabel, Erin Kendall, Taylor and Jordan Beck.
