Willard Herrboldt, 85, of Sterling,Colo died Jan. 15, 2004, at Devonshire Acres of respiratory failure. Visitation is Jan. 18 at Kostel Funeral Home, 113 Park St. South, in Menno, S.D. Funeral services are Jan. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Christian Reformatory Church in Menno, with Rev. Bill Webber officiating. Burial will follow at Menno Cemetery.
Mr. Herrboldt was born Oct. 31, 1918, in Menno to Henry
and Lydia (Knodel) Herrboldt. He graduated from eighth grade.
He married Elsie Mettler in 1942. He farmed in the Menno, Ailpena and Erwin, S.D., areas, He later moved to Menno and sold fireproof safes in eastern South Dakota for 20 years. He later moved to Parkston, S.D., and then to Sterling to be with his son, William.
He is survived by son William Herrboldt, Sterling;• brother
Donald Herrboldt; and sisters Gertrude Aman, Alice Kost, and Clera Hagrefe, all of South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by wife Elsie; son Robert; and grand daughter Brooke Herrboldt.
