- [S927] Obituary.
Robert C. Tueting passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, after a brief illness. He had been a resident at Centre Avenue Health & Rehabilitation.
Tueting was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Cincinnati to Edwin and Amanda Tueting.
He attended Ohio State University and received a B.S. degree in business administration. During his college years, Tueting enjoyed music and played clarinet and saxophone for a Big Band Era dance band.
After college, Tueting was a self-employed insurance broker in Cincinnati for a decade before selling his business to return to school and advance his education.
He received his master of arts degree specializing in business finance from the University of Cincinnati. He also was active in Ohio politics during that time and served as an aide to several Ohio state legislators.
Pursuing his goal of being an educator, Tueting held faculty teaching positions at the General Motors Institute in Michigan and at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D.
He met Erna Mettler in Sioux Falls, where she was employed as a registered nurse. They were married in Menno, S.D. They moved to Fort Collins in 1957 when Tueting joined the faculty at Colorado State University. He continued as a professor in the College of Business until his retirement from CSU in 1987.
After retiring, Tueting devoted much of his time as a volunteer in the VIPS program for the Poudre R-1 School District. He tutored junior high students in reading, writing and mathematics for many years. Tueting also was a well-known voice in local politics and was a frequent contributor of letters to the editor in the Coloradoan.
Tueting is survived by his wife, Erna M. Tueting of Fort Collins; a sister, Evelyn Augspurger of Cincinnati; one son, David Tueting, daughter-in-law Emily Tueting, grandson Brooks Tueting and granddaughter Samantha Tueting, all of Windsor.
Family and close friends will celebrate his life with a brief memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Colorado State University Foundation in care of Allnutt Funeral Service Drake Chapel.

I am having it checked out.
