AMAN, Melvin Roy
(Age 82)
Died May 25, 2006 in Spokane. He was born February 21, 1924 in Java, South Dakota. He moved to Reardan, WA when he was 11. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Army and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He undertook demolition operations as a Sergeant in the 108th Infantry Regiment of the 40th Division. In 1949, he married Maxine Helen Broemmeling in Thorncreek, Idaho. He worked 37 years for Keenan News / Spokane Periodical before retiring in 1985. He was a member of Veteran ofForeign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Germans From Russia, Sons of Norway andAssumption Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Magdalena (Spiry) Aman; brothers Edgar and Robert; and sisters Adeline, Mae, Viola and Iva. He is survived by his wife Maxine Aman; sons Kenneth (Deborah) Aman and Timothy (Patricia) Aman; daughter Jill Aman; brother Arnold Aman; sisters Laura and Alice; and grandchildren Genasee and Joseph. Vigil services will be Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 7pm at Assumption Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 10am and will be celebrated at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 3624 W. Indian Trail Rd., Spokane. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall St., Spokane. Memorial contributions are suggested to Visiting Nurses Association, 3901 E. Main, Spokane WA 99202; or to Habitat for Humanity, 728 N. Napa, Spokane WA 99202. Arrangements have been entrusted to:
