DWIN H. AND ARLENE AMAN
Edwin H. Aman was born March 19, 1918 near Hosmer to Henry and Elizabeth
(Kallenberger) Aman. He grew up with five brothers and sisters, Balzar
(deceased), Henry, Bertha Guthmiller, Ida Wageman and Claudia Schneider.
Edwin's father, Henry, was born November 26, 1880 and died August 31, 1961. His
mother was born May 6, 1884 and died September 3, 1955.
Edwin lived on a farm near Hosmer for several years and later moved with his
family to Roscoe, where Edwin got his education. After his school years, Edwin
was a trucker for George Hammond of Roscoe.
On July 4, 1938 Edwin married Arlene Libis, daughter of Leo and Christine
(Schick) Libis of Eureka. Arlene was born May 3, 1921 and grew up with two
brothers, Edward and Bruno, both deceased.
Arlene's father Leo was born November 1, 1883 in Alsace Lorraine and died
January 20, 1965. Her mother was born March 17, 1889 in Hoffnugsthal, South
Russia and is presently living in the Eureka Lutheran Home.
After working in Roscoe for a construction company, Edwin and Arlene moved to
Aberdeen where Edwin worked for K. O. Lee. He was inducted into the U. S. Navy
in 1945 and served near the Hawaiian Islands. After his discharge, Edwin and
Arlene farmed south of Eureka until Edwin died on November 1, 1979. Arlene is
living in Eureka at the present time.
Edwin and Arlene had two children, Bonnell and Pattie.
Bonnell Lew Aman was born May 7, 1939 and is married to Annie Lou Stern. They
have two sons, Loren Dean and Terry Lee. They currently reside in Eureka.
Pattie Lou, born December 29, 1951, is married to Robert Eugene Werre. They
have two children. Miles Brandon and Brooke Rhiannon. They live in Houston,
Texas.
The church affiliation of the Aman's is the Zion Lutheran Church.
