M. Jean McDonald, 80
M. Jean Wilhauck McDonald, 80, of Lafayette, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at her residence.
Born June 29, 1925, to the late Joseph H. and Florence Cole Wilhauck in Lafayette, she was a 1946 graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and a life resident.
She served in the Nurse Cadet Corps from 1943 to 1946.
Her marriage was to Harold "Max" McDonald, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1975.
Mrs. McDonald worked as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for 42 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the St. Elizabeth Nursing Alumni.
Mrs. McDonald enjoyed bowling, quilting and watching Purdue University women's basketball games.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia "Penny" Adler (husband: Michael) of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Mary Jo Danaher of Lafayette; and two sons, Michael McDonald (wife: Marilyn) of Brookston and Ronald McDonald (wife: Deana) of Booneville.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson, Allen Stinebaugh; and a brother, Joseph Wilhauck. Memorials to Cystic Fibrosis. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
