  [S927] Obituary. Unknown Newspaper 1979 Rites Held Today For Mrs. John J. Fischer Funeral services are this Wednesday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the Ashley Baptist Church for Mrs. John J. Fischer, 77, who passed away Monday at the Americana Nursing Home in Aberdeen, S.D. Emma Fischer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John (Elizabeth Bertsch) Schauer, was born March 14, 1902 in McIntosh County, near Ashley. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity and on May 24, 1924, she was married to John J. Fischer at Ashley. Their farm home was located nine miles southwest of Ashley. In 1969 they moved into Ashley. She had been in ill health the past years, spending time in the Ashley and Aberdeen hospitals. For the past 21 days she made her home at the Americana Nursing Home in Aberdeen. Survivors are her husband, John J. Fischer of Ashley; and two children, Violet (Mrs. Ernest Goehring) of Long Lake, S.D., and Clyde Fischer of Eureka, S.D., four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She also leaves one brother, Edward Schauer of Ashley; and a sister, Hilda (Mrs. John Weisser) of Bismarck. Her parents, two sons, one daughter and 11 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
