WOODSFIELD — Harold R. Kilburn, 74, of Lewisville, died Thursday (Nov. 22, 2001) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Cambridge, son of the late Freeman and Grace (Todd) Kilburn.
Mr. Kilburn owned and operated Lewisville Hardware for 17 years and retired to fish and farm in 1984.
He attended Lewisville High School and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewisville.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1945 to 1947 in World War II. He received the Army Occupation Medal for serving in Japan, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal.
He leaves his wife, Judy (Ball) Kilburn of Lewisville, whom he married March 26, 1954; a daughter, Mrs. Denson (Sherry Lynn) Wright of Ellenton, Fla.; a son, Bryan (Christine) Kilburn of Lewisville; three brothers, Ralph (Birdie) Kilburn of Arizona, Donald (Judy) Kilburn and Dale (Dorothy) Kilburn, both of Lewisville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Keith (Kristy Wright) Gilbert of Springfield, Ga., and Kara and Chad Kilburn of Lewisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with the Revs. Jack Bruce and William Worcester officiating.
Burial will be in Middle Church Cemetery, Lewisville.
