LEWIS AND JO ANN OPP Lewis Opp, the son of Edmund and Hulda Opp of Eureka, and Jo Ann (Meidinger) Opp, the daughter of Albert and Martha Meidinger of Eureka, were married on July 23, 1983. Lewis and Jo Ann Opp and family Lewis attended the Eureka Public School System where he graduated from high school. He then attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where he graduated with a B. S. in Sociology and Psychology. After graduation, he returned to Eureka where he presently owns and operates a cattle ranch at the family's farmstead, six miles north, and seven miles east of Eureka. He has been a member of the Eureka Jaycees, the Sportsman Club, the Eureka Chapter of Duck's Unlimited, and the Eureka P.T.A. Jo Ann also attended the Eureka Public School System where she graduated from high school. She then attended Northern State College and graduated with a B. S. in Secondary Music Education. While in college, she belonged to the Collegiate Choir, the Northern Singers, Marching Band, and was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a women's music fraternity. After graduation, she taught Jr. High Band and Chorus for two years, at Northwestern High School, in Mellette, South Dakota. She then moved back to Eureka in 1972 with her first husband, Larry Albrecht, and son, Craig, where they owned and operated Larry's Jack and Jill and Larry's Meat Market, until his death in December of 1981. After selling the store in August of 1982, she began working as a secretary for Milbert Schick at Eureka Realty. JoAnn has kept busy with various music activities in the church and community, as well as holding offices in the local P.T.A. She has also been serving on the Eureka Centennial Entertainment Committee. Lewis and Jo Ann are both members of the Eureka Reformed Church. They have two children, Craig, who is presently attending Moorhead State College in Moorhead, Minnesota, as a computer and business major, and Amy who is a student at the Eureka Public School System.
