RUTH OLIVE YOCKEY
Ruth Olive Yockey, 87, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at the Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.
She was born March 21, 1920, at Williamsburg to Willard and Vesta (Mundy) Griffin.
She grew up in Williamsburg. She lived most of her adult life in Osage County.
She was a member of E.H.U.
She worked as a cook at the Quenemo School.
She married Floyd Yockey May 21, 1938, at Ottawa. He preceded her in death March 7, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Lee Yockey, Paola; daughters, Barbara Powell, and her husband, John, Osage City, and Carolyn Shotwell, and her husband, David, Lebanon, Mo.; brothers, Darrell Griffin, Ottawa, and William Griffin, Pomona; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Private family burial will be later at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. Thursday to the service hour at the funeral home.
