Birth: Jan. 27, 1928 Eureka McPherson County South Dakota, USA Death: Sep. 24, 2006 Aberdeen Brown County South Dakota, USA Lucilla Neuharth was born on January 27, 1928 at Eureka, SD to Christ & Katherina (Fischer) Neuharth. She grew up on a farm northeast of Eureka where she attended country school. On October 6, 1946 she married Victor D. Bosma at Eureka. They made their home in Eureka until 1950 when they moved to Onida. In 1953 they moved to Aberdeen where she stayed home to raise her children. Starting in 1973 she worked as nurse's aide at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen and then at St. Luke's Hospital until 1978. She owned and operated a sewing shop until 1993 when she sold the business. She also did laundry for several doctors' offices and ironed many shirts. Victor died on January 7, 1987 at Minneapolis, MN. On July 16, 1999 she married Harry Hieb at Mitchell. They made their home in Aberdeen. Lucille died Sunday, September 24 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Lucille was a member of First Baptist Church, Aberdeen where she was active in ladies' circle. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, baking and especially loved sports. She had a servant's heart. Grateful for having shared Lucille's life are her husband, Harry Hieb, Aberdeen, eight children; Gary (Dana) Bosma, Villanova, PA; Susan (Bruce) Odson, Vermillion, SD; Robert (Jackie) Bosma, Cathy (Ron) Hall, James Bosma all of Aberdeen, Barbara (Bob) Clinton, Sioux Falls; William (Jahn) Bosma, Chardon, OH; Richard (Jana) Bosma, Aberdeen, and twenty four grandchildren; Genevieve, Adrienne, Willem, Sam, Catherine, Charles, Ellen, Joshua (Jessica), Kelly, Hollie (Brett), Jeff, Lisa, Kari, David, Susannah, Abigail, Cassandra, Michael, Catie, Jason, Tony, Kristina (John), Chloe and Sophie, two great-grandchildren, Carter and Nathan, step-daughter, Karen Hieb, step-grandchildren, Paula (Terry), Tony, Lance and MaLinda, and one brother, Ben (Karen) Neuharth, Brookings. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Victor Bosma, step son, Paul Hieb, sister, Florence Hauck, and brothers, Al, Harley and Ray Neuharth. Services for Lucille Bosma Hieb, 78, of Aberdeen, are Friday, September 29, 2006 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Harold E. Salem officiating.
