Eichler passed away in the house of his birth on December 26, 2015.He was born February 17, 1920 in Randolph, Ohio to Louis and Clara (Wise) Eichler. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dolores (Horning) Eichler and their children: James (RoseMarie), Edward (Helen Jane), William (Patty), Jerome (Debbie), Dennis (Marilyn), Rosemarie (Steve) Czapski, Ronald (Cara) and their families including 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Gilbert is also survived by his sister Gertrude Love and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.A life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he operated a dairy farm, drove a school bus, and worked as a custodian for Waterloo Schools. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., in Randolph, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Wednesday, December 30, from 10:00am until the 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Thomas Acker. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.Condolences and memories may be shared at www.Wood-Kortright-Borkoski.comThe family wishes to thank the staff of Summa Hospital ICU, Palliative and Hospice Care, and visiting nurse for their loving care.
