The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Buzzard, 70, of 1645 W. Main St., died unexpectedly Friday night [25 March 1988] at Samaritan Hospital. Mrs. Buzzard was injured in a two car accident March 7 on West Liberty Street at Grant Street. Born April 9, 1917 in Woodsfield, she was the daughter of John and Ella Moose Ricer. Mrs. Buzzard was a resident of Ashland the past 55 years. She was a homemaker and attended the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. She was married Jan. 9, 1934 to Harvey A. Buzzard, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Arthur (Ella) Baker of Weirton, W. Va.; three sons, Harvey E. and Fred, both of Ashland, and John of Johnsville; three daughters, Mrs. George (Mary) Reynolds, Mrs. Alva (Gloria) Chapman and Jackie Shambaugh, all of Ashland; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. John Boggs of Weirton, W.Va., Mrs. Nick Buelick of Pittsburg [sic], Pa., Mrs. Ed Kessler of Wellston, Mrs. Ted Miller of Wintersville, and Mrs. Junior Truax of Woodsfield.
