Mildred L. Violand
Mildred L. Violand, age 86, of Louisville, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Sunday May 23, 2004 following a tragic accident. Mildred was born July 2, 1917 in Canton to the late Norma and Alice (Begue) Haidet. She was a former employee of the Automatic Steel Company of Canton and Haidet?s IGA. She was an avid card player, sports fan and gardener who enjoyed traveling and walking. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville. Mildred will be remembered as a woman full of life and vitality - a woman who was healthy and active - a woman who suddenly left us, years before we were ready to say goodbye. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Spees of North Canton and Charlotte Givens of Canton; two sons, Basil (Sharon) Violand of Massillon and Bernard (Susan) Violand of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Agnes Bishop of Canton and Edna Burns of Louisville; two brothers, Bernard Haidet and Alfred Haidet both of Canton; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Violand who passed away in 1990; daughter, Virginia Heyard Nelson; and a son, Robert L. Violand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the parish Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. In lieu of flowers, Mildred?s family would like memorial contributions sent to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
