Mr. Vogt was a 1948 graduate of Greensboro High School and a US Marine Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He worked for Playtex of Dover from 1952 to 1961 and then moved on to work as a screen printer for Mulholland-Harper until his retirement.
As a retiree he enjoyed traveling, furniture building and cabinetry.

GREENSBORO, Md. - Charles Roger Vogt Sr., 81, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the University of MD Medical Center, Baltimore. He was born on May 22, 1929, in Greensboro, to the late Charles Leonard and Margaret Kibler Vogt. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Wood Vogt of Greensboro; five daughters, Karen Dyda and husband Rich of Hurlock, Linda Comeaux and husband John "Sonny" of Marydel, Del., Angela Nielson and husband Bryan of Fairview Heights, Ill., Mary Vogt of Goldsboro, Barbara Chandler and fiancée Charles Lewis of Westminster; one brother, Leonard Vogt of Denton; nine grandchildren, Jeff Smith and wife Sheila, Greg Smith, Jimmy Smith and wife Amanda, Brian Comeaux and wife Tori, David Comeaux, Melissa McHenry and husband Todd, Felipe Espil, Darin Chandler, Jr. and Ashley Chandler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Charles R. Vogt Jr.; brothers, Raymond Vogt, and Robert Vogt; and sister, Regina Wood. Mr. Vogt was a 1948 graduate of Greensboro High School and a US Marine Veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked for Playtex of Dover from 1952 to 1961 and then moved on to work as a screen printer for Mulholland-Harper until his retirement. As a retiree he enjoyed traveling, furniture building and cabinetry. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave., Greensboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011, at 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 1st Street, Denton. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Greensboro.
