Yockey, 66, was found dead Sunday noon in the basement of her home, 1627 West Main street. Neighbors inestigated and made the discovery after recalling they had not seen Mrs. Yockey for several days. Coroner Harold Brintlinger said she died several days ago. An inquest will be held.Mrs. Yockey was a familiar personality to many who did not know her name, for the little elbow-length fur cape she wore in winter, with no coat under it. She always said she was so warm-blooded that she needed no more enveloping garment.She was born Aug. 10, 1878, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A.R. Spriggs <http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=17174387>. She was married to George Yockey <http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=17161782>who died in 1922. A resident of Decatur for 23 years, Mrs. Yockey was a member of the First Methodist church and Decatur chapter No. 111, Order of Eastern Star. She also was a member of the Decatur Woman's club.The last member of her family, she leaves no immediate relatives.The body was taken to the Brintlinger funeral home. Services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Fairlawn cemetery.An inquest will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Brintlinger Funeral home.Family links: Spouse:George W.
