Landreth, age 93, of Flora, IL died at 3:40 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Flora Rehab & Health Care Center in Flora. She was born June 10, 1917 in Xenia, IL to Duncan Jay & Effie (Benner) Dow. She married Loren Landreth on July 2, 1936 in Noble, IL. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1972. She was a homemaker, past 4-H leader and church group leader, and her memberships included Trinity United Methodist Church of Flora, Clay County Hospital Auxiliary, and R.S.V.P.. Esther enjoyed gardening, flower and rose gardening, sewing and doing alterations, babysitting, and being helpful to others. She is survived by her daughter: Arlene Mattox & husband Gerald of Flora; 2 grandchildren: Cynthia McAllister & husband Tony of Louisville and Crystal Koehler & husband John of Marshall; 3 great-grandchildren: Matthew, Elizabeth, and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister (Marguerite McGrew), and two brothers (Roscoe & Everett Dow). Funeral services were held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Burial was in Golden Cemetery, Louisville. Memorials to Clay County Hospital Auxiliary.
