Obituary from Flora Daily News-Record of Thursday, Feb. 9, 1939:
O.L. Benner Dies Suddenly At His Home in Songer
Ora L. Benner, a prominent resident of Songer Township, who lived alone, was found dead at his home yesterday afternoon. An enquiry into his death was conducted by Coroner D.C Burrow of Louisville, and myocarditis was established as the cause. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from Zion church, north of Xenia, with Rev. L.A. Magill of the Flora Methodist church officiating, followed by burial in Oskaloosa cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Branson Funeral Home here until the hour of final rites.
He is survived by two brothers and three sisters, including Mrs. H.L. [Myrtle] Smith of Flora and Mrs. Jay [Effie] Dow of near Xenia.
