Marie C. (Lang) Rieseck, age 88, of Colchester, CT, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Born February 16, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Zierenberg) Lang. Marie was a former member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. She was also a former president of the Christian Mothers at St. Kilian Parish in Mars. During World War II she worked as a welder in Ambridge. For most of her life, Marie was a dedicated wife and mother to her husband and children. She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking photos, writing letters to family and friends, and playing cards and board games. She was very artistic and enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing and embroidery.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her four loving children, Ronald Rieseck and his wife, Charlene of CT, Rebecca Greenslet and her husband, David of VT, Charles Rieseck of CT and Kathleen Lazarowski and her husband, Troy of KS; her two granddaughters, Heather Rieseck and Amanda Greenslet, and numerous extended relatives.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Walter H. Rieseck, whom she married on August 22, 1945, and who passed away on August 20, 1999; her four sisters, Ethel, Anna, Margaret and Elsie, and her four brothers, George, Elmer, Edward and William.
The Rieseck family will welcome friends on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
She will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
