Birth: Sep. 23, 1919 Wilkesville Vinton County Ohio, USA Death: Feb. 11, 2015 Vinton County Ohio, USA VINTON — James W. Kessler, Sr., 95, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 11, 2015, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1919 in Wilkesville to the late Pearl A. Kessler and Rachel Hartley Kessler. Jim was a 1939 graduate of Canton High School and a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston. He retired from Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing in Wellston in 1996, where he was employed for over 45 years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James W. Kessler, Jr. and Wylodine of Hamden; two grandchildren, James Scott Kessler of Hamden and Angela Dempsey (Todd) of Jackson; as well as six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mildred E. Huffman Kessler in 2010; daughter, Sandra L. Kessler; grandson, Timothy Kessler; and several brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Feb. 15 from 4-8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home, with John Pelletier, CLP officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
