Laura Zent was born on December 26, 1923 on a farm
southeast of Mott, ND, the daughter of Raphael and Mary Anne
(Renner) Zent. She attended rural country school for eight years,
graduating from St. Mary?s High School of Richardton, ND. She
then taught at a rural school near Bentley. On July 23, 1945 she
was united in marriage to Victor Woeste at the Sacred Heart Church
in Bentley, ND. Since their marriage, Glen Ullin has been their
home. To this union five sons; David, Victor, Ron, John, Ken,
and four daughters; Mary Ann, Kathy, Gerry, and Joan were born.
Laura was a dedicated housewife and a prayerful woman. Her love
for the Lord was first and foremost in her life, followed closely by
her love for her family. Laura was always positive, smiling, and
prayed for everyone. ?Be thankful for this is the day that the Lord
has made? was a favorite verse of hers. Laura and Victor lived a
faith filled life. Laura taught 35+ years for Sacred Heart Church?s
religious education program, serving also as a lector, Eucharistic
minister, choir member and she played piano at church and for the
nursing home church services. She was active in the youth ministry
program for many years and active in Victor?s Deaconate ministry.
Laura was also a secretary for Glen Ullin High School, a nurse?s
aid at Marian Manor Nursing Home and an EMT on the ambulance
squad. She also enjoyed playing cards. Laura was a member and
held many offices for the Christian Mothers. She was a member of
the Lioness Club, Homemaker Club and the Right to Life where she
was the secretary/treasurer of the local chapter, also serving on the
State Right to Life Board of Directors and also as State Secretary.
Laura passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Marion Manor
in Glen Ullin, ND. Laura is survived by her nine children, David
(Jo-Ann) Woeste of River Falls, WI, Mary Ann (Loren) Saville of
Souris, ND, Kathy Zelmer of Apple Valley, MN, Gerry (Rick)
Filibeck of Glen Ullin, ND, Joan (Dennis) Peltz of Hanover, MN,
Victor ?Bud? (LuAnn) Woeste of Hazen, ND, Ron (Julie) Woeste
of Elk River, MN, John (Shell) Woeste of Salt Lake City, UT, and
Ken (Laura) Woeste of Longmont, CO; 24 grandchildren, Jessica
(Rocky) Wruck, Peter (Sara) Woeste, Dan (Maria) Saville, David
(Michelle) Saville, Sara (Kent) Weishaar, Jodi (Hans) Bjellum, Jeri
(Tom) Quant, Brian (Darcie) Filibeck, Becky (Don) Heley, Chris
Filibeck, Corey Filibeck, Brad (Billi) Peltz, Bryce (Mikayla) Peltz,
Jeremy (Roxanne) Woeste, Jesse Woeste, Michelle (Cody) Jacobson,

her husband, Rev. Victor P. Woeste; one son-in-law, Vern Zelmer
her parents, Raphael and Mary Zent; three brothers, Clarence
(Bernetta), Ira and Gerald (Evie); three sisters, Elsie Kuhn,
Lillian (Del) Knevel and Eunice Zent, and two infant brothers
