Joseph W. Crock Sr., age 81, of Louisville, loving father,
grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away Saturday September
2, 2000 in Altercare of Louisville Nursing Home following and exten-
ded illness.
Joe was born January 19, 1919 in Fulda, Ohio, the son of
the late William and Barbara (Crum) Crock. He was a graduate of
Louisville High School and Ohio State University. Joe was a farmer
and a former teacher for the Plain Local School District, retiring in 1977
following 30 years of service. He was a Army Air Corp. veteran of
WWII and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.
Joe leaves behind wife of 53 years, Joan Regina (Schrader)
Crock of the home whom he married May 17, 1947; three daughters
and sons-in-law, Jean and Mark Caldwell of North Canton, Jane and
David Dilk of Aurora and Barbara and Thomas Funke of Perrysburg;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph W. and Rebecca Crock Jr. of
Louisville and James G. and Jann Crock of Golden, CO; three sisters,
Mary Paumier of Louisville, Eleanor Evrard of Louisville and Rita
Schneider of North Canton; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by infant son, John; and three sisters,
Lucy Smith, Rosa Kramer and Amelia Kagle.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at
10:30 a.m. in Sr. Louis Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church
cemetery. A private viewing for the family will be held Tuesday morning
one hour prior to services at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Church or Altercare
of Louisville.
