ASHLAND - Ronald E. Bott, 74, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Samaritan Regional Health System Hospital.He was born Nov.23, 1931, in Ashland, the son of the late James Herman and Myrtle (Strickling) Bott.He lived most all of his life in Ashland, where he worked in sales for Western-Southern Insurance Company. He had been previously employed with Checker Auto parts in Phoenix, Arizona.

ASHLAND Ronald E. Bott, 74, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Samaritan Regional Health System Hospital.
He was born Nov.23, 1931, in Ashland, the son of the late James Herman and Myrtle (Strickling) Bott.
He lived most all of his life in Ashland, where he worked in sales for Western-Southern Insurance Company. He had been previously employed with Checker Auto parts in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Bott was a member of the Nankin Federated Church, a 50-year member of the Ashland American Legion Post No. 88, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Bott was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean Conflict.
On Jan. 8, 1955, Ronald married his wife, Jo Ann Speicher, who preceded him in death in 2005.
Survivors include his two sisters and brothers in-law, Mary and Darel Denney of Ashland, and Bonnie Lou and Everet Barton of St. Clairsville. Also surviving are two nieces, Cheri Denney of Mansfield, Diann and Kevin Gaysunas of Granville, and his five nephews, James and Brenda Denney of Springfield, Larry and Glynis Denney of Jeromesville, Garry and Theresa Denney of Widowville, Kevin Barton, and Jamie Barton, both of St. Clairsville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 7, at the Nankin Federated Church with Pastor Jerry Au officiating. Burial will follow at the Nankin Cemetery where military honors will be performed by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may visit with the family at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Nankin Federated Church Building Fund, 795 State Route 302, Nankin 44848 or to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1605 County Road 1095, Ashland 44805.
Heyl Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
