Marie Hartman, of Frederick, died at Chester River Manor, in Chestertown. She was the wife of the late Louis A. "Monk" Hartman, who died Aug. 20, 1976. Born Oct. 29, 1920, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Lakie T. Davis Peomroy. She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed working with crafts, traveling and going on cruises. She was at one time active as a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was a member and past president of the auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and also a member of the Auxiliary to the Junior Fire Co. No. 2. Surviving are her children, John M. Hartman Sr., Kathleen T. Schrodel and husband William, and Rosemarie Cheeks and husband Gary; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Frances Miss and Millie Romsburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Huff and Ruth Peomroy. Services at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Frederick. Arrangements by Keeney and Basford, P.A., Frederick.
