- SCENES FLASHED UPON SCREEN TOLD OF ENGAGEMENT
Miss Catherine Sebaugh and Lemert Mattingly to Wed in Early November.
The engagement of Miss Catherine Sebaugh and Lemert Mattingly was madde at a beautiful party given at the home of Mrs. John Finan, Taylor Street, on Saturday night.
The party was in the nature of a fruit shower honoring Miss Jeanette Barry, a bride-elect and Miss Barry bore the honors of the evening until the guests were seated at the dining room table where a delightful lunch was served. Suddenly the lights were lowered and a bright light was seen flashing in the china closet which was screened by a fine gauze covering. Then a scene was flashed before the eyes of the astonished guests showing a brimming river which represented Dillon Falls where the engaged couple met. A series of scenes followed which illustrated the happy incidents of their romance. The wedding scene fotold the date of November 8, which will be the day of the weding.
Miss Sebaugh is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Sebaugh of Moxahala Avenue. She is a graduate of the St. Thomas parachocial school and a member of the Society of the St. Thomas Church. Miss Sebaugh is a member of the Gamma Tau sorority of this city and is secretary of the Ohio Office Supply Company.
Mr. Mattingly is one of the most progressive agriculturalists in the county and is the son of Mrs. Mary Mattingly of Mattingly Settlement.
Miss Sebaugh was overwhelmed with good wishes by the guests of the evening who were members of her sorority. The news came as a complete surprise and the many friends of the principals to this event will hasten to extend felicitations.
