Rachel A. Rupprecht, 79, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital. Rachel was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 20, 1932, to the late Harold and Afra (Gootee) Malone. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and Memorial High School. Rachel was a lifelong homemaker, where taking care of her family was her main focus. As a devout catholic, Rachel was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and formerly of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Rachel is survived by son, Mike Rupprecht, of Evansville, Ind.; grandson, Sam Rupprecht; and a brother, William Malone (Lillian), of Oldsmar, Fla.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rupprecht, who passed away on May 21, 2011, they would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary on April 14, 2012, also preceded in death by her son, Mark Rupprecht, who passed away on November 15, 1967, at the age of 13.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Road, with Father Paul Ferguson celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue Evansville, IN 47711 and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
