1881 BIRTH: Gerald P. Scher, Genealogy of the Eckert, Karst, Scher, and Related Families, 1970. Library of Congress CS71.S5515 1970. p1N, 2N. Story of the raspberries: Anna Karst Morris lived at 442 W. Butler, Fort Wayne, Indiana. In her yard, she had raspberry bushes. These raspberries have journeyed from her yard in the 1960's to the home of her great-grandson, Marc Wheat, in Arlington, Virginia. According to her granddaughter Barb Hartman, from Anna Morris' house in Fort Wayne, the raspberries were transplanted to Anna Morris' daughter Louise Schmidt's trailer court about 1965-68. From the trailer court of Aunt Louise, raspberries were transplanted to the home of Joseph S. Morris, Louise's brother and Marc Wheat's grandfather, on Hanna Street in Fort Wayne (now the home of Joseph's daughter Kathy Morris). From Joseph Morris' house, raspberries were transplanted to the home of his daughter Barb Hartman when the Hartman's lived on Woodrow Street in Fort Wayne. The raspberries were then transplanted to the lake cottage of Barb's father-in-law, Richard Hartman (now owned by Barb's son Bill Hartman). From the lake cottage, the raspberries were transplanted to Barb Hartman's farm near Auburn, DeKalb Co., Indiana in about 1991-93. They were then transplanted again in July, 2000 to 4966 N. 34th Rd., Arlington, Virginia, when Barb Hartman brought them from Indiana with her sisters Sue Wheat and Kathy Morris.
