Hello again Heather. If Edward is your great grandpa, then that makes us second cousins. Something like that. Edward and his sister, my grandmother, Bertha were 2 of 11 children. Thier other siblings were Lydia,1890-1976, Paulina, 1891-1983, Gottlieb, 1892-1985, Elizabeth, 1894-1946, Edward, your grandpa, 1897-1967, Gustav, 1900-1933, Mary, 1902-1989, Bertha, my grandmother, 1903-1972, Jacob, 1905-1929, Rosa, 1908-1950 and Christina, 1909-1995. Quite the family, eh. My grandmother married Frederich Junkert and they had 8 children. Harry, 1921-2000, Erna, 1924, Esther, 1925-1998, Milbert, 1927, Gladys, 1929, Loreen, 1934, Darlene, my mother, 1936 and Clarence,1940. I remember a few thing about my grandmother but we didn't live in the same town, so we didn't get to see her much. She was a very strong woman with a tender heart. I remember her giving us Fig Newtons behind my moms back and that she drank a lot of coffee and smoked like a chimney. Her house was very small so we didn't have large gatherings there. She used to make awesome German pastry. I have been researching my mothers family tree for a while now. My mother only remembers a couple of Bertha's siblings. She doesn't remember anything of Edward. I do have some pictures of Bertha and her family and one of Edwards and Bertha's father. I could email them to you if you like. Hello Heather. Edward Feiock was my grandmother Bertha's brother. I have done a lot of research on the Feiocks and I can give you what I have on Edward. His father was Gottlieb Feiock, b.1867 in Russia, d. 10/28/1920 in South Dakota. His mother was Elizabeth Knoll, b 1/1/1869 in Russia, d/ 8/7/1948 in South Dakota. Edward, b/ 3/17/1897, d. 12/7/1967. Alvina Bender, b. about 1892, North Dokota, d/ 7/22/1956 in Abredeen, South Dakota. I am assuming that is where she is burried. As far as I could tell, Edward and Alvina had 3 children. Mabel, b. 1918, Gean, b.1926 and Geideon, b. 1921, d. 11/4/1990 in Browns Valey, CA. Mabel married Elroy E.R. Kuechle on 3/27/1934. Elroy was born in 1908. I hope that this helps you out. Johann Georg Feiock [spelled Veiock in the Pfalz] was born about 1804, probably in Darstein, Pfalz. He was listed as 45 in 1850 & 52 in the 1858 census; but his sister, Jakobina was born in 1805 [based on her age at death] and he is older. I have not been able to find the Pfalz records for this family. They lived in Darstein, a village a couple km north of Vorderweidental. There are no church records after 1798, so one can only rely on the civil records, which do exist. However, in 1998, we were unable to spend enough time at the Standesamt in Bad Bergzabern to locate these records. One day we hope to do more searching there or obtain information by mail. Johann Georg moved to Kischinew [now Chischinau, capital of Moldova], probably in the early 1860s, but certainly after the 1858 census. We have not found a death record for Johann Georg Feiock, but he died before May 1864. His son, Jacob [born 1837 Rohrbach], was married in Chotin [near Kischinew] on 3 May 1864, to Karolina Kulmann [who came from Uskerthal in Galicia]. The marriage records describes Jacob's parents as--Georg Feijak, a Dienst [laborer] of Lubel gesellschaft [a company in Kischenew] and Barbara, both deceased [the 1858 census says Barbara died in 1855]. Jacob was a machinist by Riegler [the name of his employer in Kischinew]. What happened to the couple is unknown to me, but they might have moved to Galicia, as I have had email contact with an American descendent of a Jacob Feiock, who emigrated from Austrian Galicia, whose age is awfully close.Note from Wiest Family History

Faiock: this family that went to Kassel as well as Rohrbach, Odessa, was proven by the GCRA to be from Vorderweidentahl, Bergzabern [Amt], Pfalz. Also spelled Veiock. See their book for detail.
