Message: My name is John Joseph Ackermann and I am a descendent of a Brooklyn Ackermann family. My paternal Grandparents were Joseph John Ackermann b. Aug. 15 1886 and Barbara Metzner b. Nov 4 1882 d. Oct 30 1920. They had five children Mary, Barbara, Margret, Joseph John and John Joseph b. Sep. 7 1920 d. Nov. 13 1957. After Barbara Metzner passed my grandfather Married a Mary Baier. I have been told that Mary Baier and Barbara Metzner were related but I cannot confirm the relationship. I was told that my grandparents lived with her parents at the John Metzner Funeral Parlor on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. Later for health reasons they moved to Connecticut. I have no knowledge of my grandparents ancestry. I heard of a Uncle Henry presumably my grandfather's brother. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
