YAKIMA - Genevieve Marie "Berger" Beehler, 80, of Yakima passed away at her daughter's home in Carnation, WA on September 21, 2005.
Genevieve was born in Linton, North Dakota on July 13, 1925 to Roney and Barbara Hager. She was raised in North Dakota until she moved with her family to the Yakima Valley in 1944.
She married Adam Berger in Yakima in 1945. Adam passed away in 1963. She raised her family in Yakima.
In 1971 Genevieve married Edward Beehler in Yakima. Genevieve and Ed moved to Othello and return to the Yakima Valley in 1987. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and family. The family would often gather and play many board games together. Once her children moved away, she would often make the drive to the coast, Colorado, and even Arizona to see them. Genevieve was scared of flying and the water, but when her son Lyle lived in Hawaii she made the flight out to see him. She enjoyed traveling to Reno twice a year, and she could tell you where every mall was there. Crocheting and card playing was another of her favorite things to do.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Adam Berger; brother, Alex Hagar; sisters, Irene Saunders and Delores, as well as her parents, Roney and Barbara Hager.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Beehler of Yakima; sons, Robert Berger of Yakima, Lyle Berger of Colorado Springs, CO, John Berger of Yakima, and Patrick Beehler of Yakima; daughters, Linda Wiley of Granite Falls, WA, Mary Dixon of Yakima, Lisa Smith of Arlington, WA, and Trish Cleman of Carnation, WA.; brothers, Bill Hager of Cottage Grove, OR, John Hager of Yakima, Ben Hager of Tehachapi, CA, Pius Hager of Puyallup, Jerry Hager of Yakima; sisters, Rosemary Beehler of Yakima and Kay Gowin of Renton; 13 grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren.
