- [S927] Obituary.
Linenmiers, William Sr.
William LinsenmiersEarly settler passes away William Linsenmier Sr., died at the age of 82.William Linsenmier Sr., of the best known farmers in these parts, died at his home, three miles northwest of town, Nov. 19, 1908, at 5:10 o?clock this morning.Death was due to Bright?s disease. Mr. Linsenmier was in his 82 year, and had resided in this county for upwards of half a century. He was one of honored pioneer settlers of the county and was familiar with the entire history of development of this part of the state. The people of the present, enjoying the advantages which civilization has brought, cannot realized the conditions that confronted the pioneer settler, a half a century or more ago. At the time that Mr. Linsenmier arrived he lived among the Indians, who still regarded this part of the state as their hunting ground. But few white settlers had penetrated into this region to plant seeds of civilization here. Mr. Linsenmier worked early and late to clear the land, which he brought under a highs rate of cultivation. He, like the other early settlers, burned up valuable timer, of which there was such a superabundance in the early days. The deceased was born in Wurtenburg, German, April 22, 1827. He came to America in 1852 and was married in 1957 to Fredericka Greiner.Mr. Linsenmier is survived by a widow and eight children, the latter being John of Arkansas, Charles who resided north of Town, William who resides west of Town, Fred whose home is west of Buchana, Henry who lived in the state of Washington, Christ who lived on the homestead, Albert of Mishawaka and Mrs. Daniel Nieb of Niles. The funeral will leaves the house at 1 o?clock and services will occur from the Evangelical Church, West Niles Sunday afternoon at 2 o?clock, to be conducted by the pastor, Rev. D.O. Ruth assisted by Rev. E.J. Erye, presiding elder from Detroit. Internment at Silver Brook Cemetery.

Proposed Change: Fredericka Griener (I87301)
Tree: Südpfalz / Southern Palatinate
Link: http://www.birkenhoerdt.net/getperson.php?personID=I87301&tree=Suedpfalz
Description: It is unfortunate that I cannot find William and Fredericka in 1870. It's one of those last name blunders by either the enumerator or transcriber.
Yet, I did find them in 1880, and Ida appears, among other siblings.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MW9T-S82
I also located these records:
There was a Charles Linsenmeyer born about 1859. He did not appear in the 1880 census, but would have been about 21 years of age. He could have been on his own. Anyway, here is a death record (including name of wife, Matilda):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FHC3-5TL
Marriage of Charles and Matilda Caroline Rauft:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FCDY-JLX
I then located Charles and Matilda, with two children in 1900. Don't be fooled by Charles' year of birth. It says 1869, but if you do the math on his age (see actual record), he was born around 1859. Both his parents follow his household on the sheet:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M91L-K66
Death of son, Arthur:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FHDC-CV5
Birth of Lotte (Charlotte May):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NQ8W-D6T
Marriage of Lotte to Burgette O. Wells:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FC66-24F
Then, there is a Fred Linsenmeyer, whose death record shows a wife, Sophia:

Birth of son, Fred:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FH98-KFP
Death of son, Fred:

A marriage record for Edward comes up, and think outside the box on mother Eureka (Frederika). He was married to a Nora Nieb, but not the one in your db:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VN2W-R4T
1900 census of Edward and Nora, showing a child:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M912-2KJ
(I located Nora and her parents in the 1880 census):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MW9T-SDJ
Under separate cover, I sent you the following information on William Jr, (in you db, but not attached to parents):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FCDB-QJ2
He was also not in the household at age 17 in 1880. Could be that he was living and working on someone else's farm. Can't be sure.
The following, is my guess on Albert's birth:
