SMITH, 65, died Thursday afternoon at Lakeland Nursing Center in Angola. He was born to Ralph and Elizabeth ( Miller) Smith in Hammond, Indiana on June 27, 1943. He married Lana K. Walter on June 26, 1965 in Angola, IN and she survives. Mr. Smith worked for Dana Weatherhead in Angola for 28 years and Ingersoll – Rand for 10 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Surviving is his wife Lana, two sons and a daughter-in-law; one brother and sister-in-law; one sister and brother-in-law; And one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father Fred, his mother Elizabeth, a sister; Susan Ayres and one grandchild; Jeffery Allen Smith. Calling is Sunday February 8, 2009 at the H.E. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home at 108 S. West Street, Angola from 3 – 7 PM. Services will be on Monday February 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with calling 1 hour prior to services. Rev. Gerald C. Machgan will be officiating.
