Alyce Wolff, 96, Eureka, SD, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, February 22, 2016 at Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel, Eureka, with Rev. James Grossmann officiating. Interment follows at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Eureka. Organist will be Michelle Grossmann and the congregation will sing “It Is Well With My Soul” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. “The Lord’s Prayer” will also be presented as a vocal solo.
Visitation will be at Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel, Eureka, from 5:00 PM Sunday until the time of service Monday. Family will be present from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday.
Alyce Trautman, daughter of Katharine (Feiock) and Henry Trautman, was born December 20, 1919 in McPherson County east of Eureka. Alyce married Edwin C. Wolff on November 12, 1944 at Eureka. They farmed eight miles southeast of Eureka until October 21, 1985. Alyce moved to Eureka into an apartment at Lakeview Properties and worked for Green Thumb at the Senior Citizens Center. She relocated to the Healthcare Center in February 2009. She was a member of the Eureka Reformed Church. Alyce enjoyed singing and playing piano.
Alyce is survived by two sons—Charles Edwin (Pamela) Wolff of Mitchell, SD and David Grant Wolff of Aberdeen, SD; one daughter Judith Ann Wolff, whereabouts unknown; two sisters—Norma Weller of Eureka and Irene Staiger of Jamestown, ND; one brother Milbert Trautman of Eureka; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin, on January 28, 1992; one daughter, Diana, in 1959; four brothers (Herbert, Ernest, Mervin and Benjamin); and two sisters (Alma Kirschenmann and Ester Knoll).
Honorary bearers will be Alyce’s friends at the Avera Eureka Healthcare Center.
In addition to Alyce’s two sons, casketbearers will be Stanley Schaffer, Dennis Schaffer, and Dennis Trautman all of Eureka, and Jeffrey Wolff of Bismarck, ND.
Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel, Eureka, is in charge of arrangements.
