Lula Mae KochertDied: Thursday, March 15, 2007Lula Mae Kochert, 92, Lanesville, died Thursday morning, March 15, 2007, at Autumn Wood Health Campus in New Albany.Born Aug. 15, 1914, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of Albert Sr. and Theresia Geswein Hess.She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, and of St. Mary's Quilters and St. Anne's Society.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Kochert, and four brothers, Francis, Albert Jr. Melvin and Wilbur Hess.Survivors include two sons, Lester Kochert of New Albany and Cletus Kochert of Lanesville; six daughters, Bernice Hatfield of Sellersburg, Sister Marlene Kochert, OSF, of Tohatchi, N.M., Kathleen Kochert and Norma Roddy, both of New Albany, Rosemary Fanning of Zionsville and Monica Huber of Louisville; four sisters, Rosetta Smith of New Albany, Marie Smith of Borden, and Irene and Marcella Naville, both of Navilleton; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.Visitation: Friday, March 16, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (prayer service at 7 p.m.) and after 8 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.Funeral Mass: Saturday, March 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.Celebrant: Father Harold Ripperger.Pallbearers: Todd and Kevin Kochert, Brandon and Jonathan Huber, Ryne Fanning and Landon Craig.Memorial gifts: Sisters of St. Francis, P.O. Lula Mae Kochert, 92, of Lanesville
A funeral Mass for Lula Mae Kochert, 92, of Lanesville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Lanesville, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.
She was member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Lanesville and a member of the St. Mary?s Quilters and of the St. Anne?s Society.
Survivors include two sons, Lester Kochert (Marlene) and Cletus Kochert; six daughters, Bernice Hatfield (Ray), Sister Marlene Kochert OSF, Kathleen Kochert, Norma Roddy (Bob), Rosemary Fanning (Bill) and Monica Huber (Shane); four sisters, Rosetta Smith, Marie Smith (Bud), Irene Naville (Bob) and Marcella Naville (Herman); 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, March 16, and after 8 a.m. Saturday. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. this evening.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to either the Sisters of St. Francis, P.O. Box 100, Oldenburg, IN 47036 or to Mass of the Air at 508 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, KY 40207.
