Inboden, Howard L. "Abe" Inboden

Howard L. "Abe" Inboden, age 84, of East Sparta, died Sunday morning in the Country Lawn Nursing Home, Navarre, following a brief illness. Son of the late William S. and Jennie (McKinney) Inboden. He was an East Sparta area resident for 69 years, retiring from the Hoover Company in 1981 after 13 years of service. He was also a self employed contractor, a Stark County Deputy Sheriff for five years and had served as the East Sparta Chief of Police from 1961-1974. Member of the East Sparta Christian Church and the Isaac L. Kinney American Legion Post #244. He was a World War II Army veteran and had served in the Merchant Marines. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Hilda Beamer; a half-sister, Olive Shaeffer; half brother, Gilbert Inboden. He is survived by his wife, Viola M. (Schaub), to whom he was married 66 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Beth Inboden; one grandson, Brandan Inboden; one brother and sister-in-law, William H. and Jean Inboden, all of Canton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Thelma Armstrong of Alliance, Donna Marie and Frank Mazzan of Louisville; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Don Phelps officiating. Interment in East Sparta Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Sparta Christian Church at 9429 Main St. S.E., East Sparta, OH 44626 or the East Sparta Volunteer Fire Department.
