Dale C. Laux Sr.
Dale C. Laux Sr., 73, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, in Medina.
He was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Cleveland. Mr. Laux was an educator for Cleveland Public Schools for 30 years as a supervisor for adult vocational programs, program manager for the Manpower Training Center and teacher at West Technical High School. He was also an educational consultant for Cleveland-area manufacturers. Mr. Laux and his wife served on numerous committees for many years for the Boy Scouts of America Great Trail Council, Eagle Scouts and Silver Beaver Awards. He was a member of Brunswick Reformed Church, where he was an elder, deacon and past president.
Mr. Laux is survived by his wife, Mildred (nee Kindelberger) of Brunswick; sons, Dale C. Jr. (Jacqueline), Donald A. (Cindy), Daniel J. (Darlene), Douglas W. (Kathy) and David B. (Carol); daughter, Laura D. (Larry) Barley; grandchildren, Ryan, Bradley, Dawn, Deanna, Danny, Kristen, Joshua, Jacob, Rebecca and Jeffrey Laux, Kelley and Mark Barley, and Mark and Heather Lichty; great-grandchildren, Madison Lichty and Chase Douglas Rouse; mother-in-law, Sarah Kindelberger; sister, Joan Scheutzow; brother, Richard (June); stepbrother, Jerry Willert; and four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Shields and Adelbert Laux; stepparents, Joseph Shields and Josephine Laux; and brother-in-law and friend, William Scheutzow.
Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Brunswick Reformed Church, 3535 Grafton Road. Pastor Don Poest will officiate.
Interment: Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
Visiting hours: 7 to 9 p.m. today at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road (state Route 303 at Interstate 71), and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
