Mrs. Christina Gohl Dies At St.Luke's
Mrs. Chistina Gohl, 82, of 423 2nd Ave S.E., died monday at St. Luke's Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. W.J. Link officiating. Burial will be at Leona.
Mrs. Gohl was born Jan. 24, 1880, at Tripp. The familu moved to McPherson County, near Eureka where she spent her childhood. She was married to Fred Gohl Dec. 3 1897, at Eureka and they made their home on a farm near there. Later they farmed near Leola until their retirement in 1938, when they moved to Leola.
Mr. Gohl died in 1945 and Mrs. Gohl returned to Leola to make her home. She later returned to Aberdeen and made her home here during the the past eight years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
Survivors include four sons, Fred. of Sioux Falls; Albert of Seattle, Wash.; William of Moorhead, Minn.; and Herman, of Mose Lake, Wash.; seven daughters, Mrs. Albert (Emma) Mehlhaff, Mrs. Fred (Rose) Obermeyer, Mrs. Ben (Minnie) Werner and Mrs. Henry (Marie) Schabel, all of Aberdeen; Mrs. John (Christina) Salzer, Ashley, N.D.; Mrs Joseph (Alvina) Schaible, Moses Lake, Wash.; and Mrs. George (Anna) Swalve, Roscoe; one brother, John Hoff, Yakima, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Christ (Emma) Mehlhaff, Aberdeen; 35 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, two brothers, three sisters and one daughter preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Huebl Chapel from Wednesday morning until Thursday noon and at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. Thursday. Relatives are requested to meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the church basement.
